How To Apply for a Marriage License or Civil Union License in New Hampshire

A NH State marriage license, once issued, is good for 90 days, there is no longer a waiting period.  Couples can go to any NH Town/City Hall and apply for their marriage license.  Check out the official website.

After the ceremony, your officiant is required to complete and sign the marriage license.   They will then mail it back/file it with the same town hall that issued the license. 

It’s best for newlyweds to contact the town clerk 7 to 14 days after the ceremony, if they want to obtain an official copy for their records.
